This is the worst 5.1 mix I have ever heard. John McVie’s bass is boomy and sounds unnatural. There is extra reverb on the vocals & instruments that drown out the rest of the mix. It even sounds like they EQ'ed her voice to make it sound different in some areas. Sometimes it even sounds like an alternate vocal take was used. Someone really liked Stevie Nicks because her vocals are way up in the mix in just about every song. Instruments that were never there were mixed in. I am appalled at what they did to this thing. I was really looking forward to hearing this in 5.1 thinking it would sound out of this world. This is everything I thought this record should sound like. “Gold Dust Woman” is mystical and powerful. Stevie’s voice is of course so smooth and gritty at the same time. Hearing Lindsey plucking his strings on “Never Going Back Again” is a treat. It is worth the purchase just for the stereo layer. The stereo soundstage is distinct and spacious. I have been listening to this record ever since 1977. He is slamming the kick and the snare and they sound great. Micks drums are popping out of the speakers. It is perfect and the SACD brings all of that out. This is a well recorded, engineered, and mixed album.
